Permanent 37.5 hours (5 out of 7 days, Monday-Sunday rota)

£26,786 per annum

We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual to provide maintenance and portering services, with excellent customer care and communication skills, and the ability to work using your own initiative.

Working in a small team, it is essential that you have the ability to be flexible with a willingness to participate in all duties.

You will provide a maintenance and portering service to the Hospice which includes all of St Luke’s estate. This includes providing support to the clinical teams in the re-location and care of the deceased and undertaking mortuary duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain all plant and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation related to fire safety, health, and safety, among others.
  • Contribute to our maintenance on-call rota, providing support round-the-clock.
  • Assist in sourcing and supplying equipment and machinery as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to improve resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide support for internal and external functions and events.
  • Ensure timely completion of portering and mortuary duties, supporting clinical teams as required.
  • Monitor building security and maintain records in accordance with legal requirements.

Working at St Luke’s provides the ideal opportunity to gain experience in palliative medicine for anyone considering a career in palliative medicine or for professional development. You will have the opportunity to work within our dynamic Integrated Community Service and In-Patient Centre.

In order to work with us, you will need to hold full registration with the GMC with a licence to practice, along with prior experience in palliative medicine.
