Job Description - Senior Lecturer

Senior Lecturer in Business Management (x2) Edinburgh and Aberdeen About The Team: SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. SRUC is uniquely placed to support the industry in meeting these challenges and equipping graduates with enhanced knowledge, skills and practices related to objective setting, use of technology, data handling, communications and business skills, and resource use efficiency. Current programmes of education include HND and BA(Hons) across the subject areas of Rural Business Management, but also masters teaching in Ecological Economics, Food Security and Environmental Protection and Management. The Opportunity: We are looking for two Senior Lecturers in Business Management, one each to be based at our Aberdeen and Edinburgh campuses, to lead delivery and support the design of a new suite of Masters-level courses in Business Management. We are looking for individuals with a track record in delivery of business management related courses, with additional expertise in developing courses to Masters standard. These two posts will lead the development and delivery of materials, with a small team, for a set of Masters modules that make up Msc programmes in International Business, Business Consultancy, International Agribusiness and Project Management. You will join a group of lecturers and researchers who have delivered a range of business-related courses predominantly to the rural and agricultural sector, but we do not expect specific industry knowledge or evidence of delivery specific to these sectors. The post will be expected to build up a team of lecturers as the portfolio develops and design of new modules in complement to the streams outlined above. The post holders would also have the opportunity to engage in SRUCs Enterprise Academy. The ability to design and deliver courses for online as well as on-campus students at all levels would be welcome, to reflect our growing portfolio of distance and international teaching; A commitment to excellence in classroom and online teaching, as well as novel approaches to teaching business is required. Key responsibilities will include: We foresee the role to be split between management and design (60%), and delivery (40%) Responsibilities: To design, review and develop module material to the standards of a relevant and an internationally recognised Business Management Masters degree programme. Deliver lectures and tutorials within the candidates area of expertise within the suite of programmes to be developed. To engage students in a dynamic, interactive and stimulating learning experience. To develop and grow a team of business specialists within the programme. The position in Edinburgh (ACF/EC/005/24) will be based in the Rural Economy, Environment and Society Research Group at SRUC, Kings Buildings, Edinburgh Campus.
