Content Creator

Nexus Mods is looking to further develop our team by recruiting an experienced Content Creator to join our new Content Team. We are looking for a writer with passion and enthusiasm for modding games. You should have an engaging writing style and the ability to craft compelling community content in a variety of formats.

Reporting to our Content Manager, this position is based in our sunny offices in Exeter in the UK and you will need a right to work in the UK before you apply. As a business, we work a 4-day work week, with all staff on-site in our Exeter office. 

The Role

As a Content Creator, you are responsible for producing high-quality content that engages our audience, builds brand awareness, and drives traffic to our website. You’ll create everything from blog posts and articles to social media posts that resonate with our community, whilst working with our teams to ensure content aligns with our brand and goals. 

You will need to have your finger on the pulse of the Nexus Mods modding community, the general gaming modding community, and the wider gaming industry to fully represent us in all those spheres. It'll be your job to ensure that Nexus Mods content remains fresh, relevant, and engaging while continuing to grow our audience and helping us to communicate more with our existing community.

This is not a junior or entry-level role and applicants must have prior content creation experience. Please include at least three examples of written content that you have produced.

Responsibilities

• Content Production: Create compelling and engaging content, including blog posts, articles, social media posts, and infographics.
• Content Strategy: Work with the Content Manager to develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with Nexus Mods' goals and community interests.
• Collaboration: Work with the Content Manager and Community Team to highlight new or trending mods and bring attention to underrepresented games on Nexus Mods.
• SEO Optimization: Implement SEO best practices to increase content visibility and organic search traffic.
• Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyse content performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Trend Monitoring: Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activities, and audience preferences to ensure content is relevant and innovative.
• Moderation Support: Assist with content moderation, ensuring that all published content adheres to our guidelines and standards.

• This is an office-based position. You need a right to work in the UK and a willingness to relocate to Exeter as soon as possible. We cannot provide visas.
• Proven experience as a Content Creator, Copywriter, or in a similar role.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (English), with an ability to create engaging and clear content.
• Proficiency with content creation tools and platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, content management systems, and social media platforms).
• Ability to generate innovative content ideas that resonate with our community.
• Understanding of SEO principles and best practices to increase content visibility.
• High attention to detail in content creation and editing.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Awareness of current trends in gaming, modding, and digital content to keep our content fresh and relevant.
• Ability to analyse content performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.

• An understanding of how Nexus Mods and modding works.
• A sense of humour, niche jokes and deep modding meme knowledge.
• A love of computer games, particularly those in our top 20.

Salary

Between £25,000 - £35,000, depending on your experience level.
