This role will be working on one of our defence contracts based in Samlesbury, Lancashire. Duties and responsibilities: Extract, clean and review data from various systems and data sources Report building and ownership Lead transformation activities relating to data & reporting Review and scrutinise Customer data & reports alongside the Operational Team Provide enhanced reporting to both internal stakeholders and to customers within P&I, repositioning reporting and analytical tasks away from the operational teams to enable them to focus on delivery Provide efficiencies to weekly reporting and period reporting, providing management with faster and more insightful information, whilst also providing efficiencies and cost saving opportunities Demonstrate Wincanton’s culture and values – Excellence, Integrity, Passion, Proactivity, Togetherness and Trust Experience, skills, attributes and the person: Understanding of the nature of data and its application to the reporting process Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau & Excel Good understanding of SQL principles Knowledge of extraction methods and quality control mechanisms Understanding of Data Warehouse and ETL processes Excellent skills with Microsoft products Excellent understanding of data formats Ability to design key visuals which help derive management decisions to drive real change on business performance and financial understanding Demonstrate experience of business partnering with financial and operational teams Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and mentor junior team members As a Data Analyst you will be rewarded with: Salary £32,600 per annum 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with the option to buy more Free parking Retail discounts Pension scheme Death in Service benefit Healthcare Cash Plan Payroll Giving Shares Scheme Cycle to Work Scheme Wellbeing Portal This role supports 24 hour operations, the role will be mainly based around office hours, but flexibility will be required at times to interact and work with colleagues working other shift patterns therefore it is essential that you have a flexible approach to work.
