Despatch Team Leader

We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen at our Bradford Bakery for a Despatch Team Leader to join our team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Front Line Managers with managing, developing and leading the team to effectively deliver an operationally excellent Despatch in line with Hovis supply chain business requirements.

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Supervise team of shift based operatives on shift whilst giving clear direction (organise, motivate, communicate).
• To develop an efficient operation in line with the site plan and key business performance indicators
• Comply with company and legal standards (safety, hygiene and environment)
• Lead and develop continuous improvement activity in the teams delivery of quality, value, safety, hygiene, environment and customer service
• Ensure total compliance to all standard procedures and systems

• Demonstrate visible leadership for the team
• Ability to cover for the Despatch Front line Manager in their absence
• To contribute to the development and implementation of site plans

The right candidate will have:

• Working knowledge of business systems –SAP/PTL/ & T&T
• Ability to create strong and effective cross functional relationships
• Relevant industry experience
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and commitment to H&S
• Excellent Leadership and people management and coaching skills
• IT literate
• Good numeracy and literacy
• Good communication skills at all levels
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Be adaptable, flexible and demonstrate a willingness to accept changes in operational requirements at short notice
• MHE/FLT Trained
