The purpose of this role is to lead a small team to develop and execute logistics solutions for a JLR production plant and off-site warehouse in support of vehicle programmes and plant strategy. The role will provide technical support and work towards developing and executing a robust change programme to ensure logistics operations are competitive in performance and value. The role requires vision to identify opportunities for transformation and drive to deliver change through the full cycle from development of ideas through to project delivery, in a fast moving and dynamic environment. Lead the planning, specification, design and delivery of manufacturing logistics equipment, processes and facilities that meet our quality, volume and cost targets. Develop and deliver logistics solutions in close co-ordination with the relevant plant logistics & ME teams to enable successful launch of new products and facilities, ensuring feasibility of designs to suit manufacturing logistics requirements. Develop and deliver logistics solutions in line with the GME Logistics Strategy. Identify opportunities and create business cases to increase logistics driven competitive advantage for manufacturing in line with the GME Logistics Strategy. Collaborate across functional areas to overcome challenges and present clear solutions with a strong business case to senior management. Develop logistics IT / systems requirements in conjunction with digital teams. Identify opportunities for automation, define requirements and manage projects through delivery ensuring deliverables are met. Oversight of existing automation solutions to ensure operational performance is maintained and is in line with design intent. Report out status on project responsibilities. Previous experience in Supply Chain Solution design. Experience in design and delivery of logistics solutions in both manual equipment and automation technologies. Management of multiple concurrent projects. Strong analytical skills and statistical ability - able to use data & metrics to drive improvement.
