Job Description - Logistics & Distribution Lead

Working within the Logistics Operations department, you will report to the Logistics Operations Group Leader. You will be working in a cross-functional setting, you will contribute to overall departmental goals and company profitability by proactively working closely with Stores functions, Quality, Transport drivers and Production to ensure material requirements for all model builds are satisfied in a timely and accurate manner Managing adherence to delivery schedules in line with production requirements, supplier lead times, and warehousing capacities Shift patterns: 05:30 am – 13:45pm and 15:00pm - 23:15pm Participating in Policy Deployment Close liaison with other disciplines within the logistics organisation, as well as other departments especially Warehouse, Quality and Expediter teams Minimising warehouse stock outs through the management of a clear deck policy Review, improve and administer the operating environment through establishing and maintaining housekeeping standards. Follow standard operating procedures and actively pursue the elimination of waste through the application of continuous improvement tools and techniques. Ensuring all inbound freight is managed and accounted for into the business. To issue parts to the Production line on time, and collection of empty stillages/kanban boxes to be returned to stores for replenishment. Be responsible for all Health and Safety policy within the area, ensuring Health and Safety reps are advised of any issues. To constantly monitor lineside/warehouse stock accuracy and resolve issues where necessary. Team performance management & adherence to company policies & process. Strong team working qualities and excellent influencing and interpersonal skills to ensure aligned strategies and deliverables are achieved Proven track record delivering improved operational performance in both favorable and unfavorable conditions, utilising cross-functional teams Warehousing or Manufacturing experience would be advantageous Knowledge of SAP or similar Warehouse Management systems preferable An individual able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
