Logistics Engineering Technician

Basic Function:

Maintains parameters within warehouse management software of parts and flows through the production facility. Predominantly focused on improving the internal flow of material through Kaizen, reducing material handling, optimising stocking levels and modifying parameters to sit production requirements. Maintenance and analysis of the department KPI’s, providing insight into where opportunity lies for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Parameter management
• KPI reporting
• Investigate missing part root causes
• Quick response to technical issues
• Maintenance of delivery locations & standards
• Resolution of quality issues caused by handling
• Monitor missing parts and urgent deliveries
• Liaise with internal customers and understand their needs and constraints
• Identify and remove waste from the internal material flow
• Collaborate with the workplace organisation to move towards the ideal production system
• Assess impact of new product launches
• Create strategies and projects to integrate new product into the current logistic flows
• Implement projects in accordance with timelines identified
• Raise purchase orders and manage them within SAP
• Logistics engineering technicians are also the first line responders for technical issues with parts and delivery from the internal warehouse, a blended approach of strong analytics and hands on problem solving is needed.

Qualifications/Requirements :

• Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
• 1 years of industry related experience
• Problem solving

• Leadership skills
• Warehouse management system experience
• Understanding or experience in SAP
• Fully Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook
