Job Description - Logistics Manager

Job title: Manufacturing Logistics Manager

Location: Samlesbury / Warton – Full Time On Site

Salary: £61,110+

What you’ll be doing:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of a supply chain logistics team, which could include both professional and manual resource, to provide a logistics service to an area within manufacturing operations

Providing support to the Senior Logistics Managers / Head of Logistics in their responsibility for its safety, performance, capability, processes and strategy to ensure the logistics requirements for the Line of Business are delivered

Lead the operation of a data management cell for all order book management information, data integrity, performance metrication and value chain Key Performance Indicators to deliver operational excellence

Act as an escalation route for prioritisation of work to lists, and responsible for the expediting of shortages

Liaising with internal and external suppliers to ensure the flow of material through the manufacturing process, and address supply chain performance issues as identified

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Significant experience within an operational production/ manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of Logistics / Supply Chain strategies, concepts, ERP systems and processes
  • Strong leadership competence e.g. decision making, communicating, motivating, selecting/developing people, taking proactive actions
  • A high energy leader, with a focussed and objective management style and an ability to quickly develop relationships both internally and externally

Desirable:

  • Able to filter, prioritise, analyse and validate complex and dynamic material
  • Recognition through an appropriate Professional Supply Chain body at a Chartered level i.e. CILT or equivalent
  • Previous experience of the delivery of complex and critical logistical outcomes that enable strong schedule and financial performance
