Project Manager – Construction Job Description

crooton is working with a a prestigious leader in windows, doors, and conservatory manufacturing and fitting, and is seeking a talented and dedicated Project Manager within their building department to join our dynamic team, in our Bradford Head Office. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our customers continue to receive great quality products on time every time.

This company leads the way in home improvement design and installation, having built a strong background with over 32 years of experience installing conservatories, orangeries, extensions, windows, doors, and rooflines

Hours- 08:00-17:30 Monday to Friday, however, flexibility is needed as and when required.

Office working

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience & company car, etc

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage organisation of key in-house projects, which will include the removal of existing structures and redevelopment of existing foundations or the construction of extensions and conservatory’s from the foundation up.

The project manager should have an appropriate background including management, budgeting, and analysis, and some surveying and building regulation knowledge would be an advantage. The role will report to the Operations Manager and will involve coordinating all aspects of every build including but not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate internal resources, third party suppliers, and contractors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Developing project scopes, building program, review all aspects of the build before acceptance to ensure all technical and logistical aspects are considered and cost.
  • Ensure all materials for every job arrive to the required specification and on time.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and oversee all trades.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques and procedures to identify and manage swiftly any changes in project scope, timeline, and costs, to ensure that any impact on the project or business is minimised.
  • Measure and analyze project and team performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, to ensure that every team and project is managed to maximise productivity.
  • Manage the relationship with all stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Perform risk management to minimise project risks and ensure that all relevant stakeholders adhere to processes to minimise risk.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Work with the procurement team to ensure the business has the right suppliers across all geographies to support all projects.

The Applicant

The successful applicant will be the projects lead ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Co-ordinating internal resources as well as third party suppliers and contractors for the flawless execution of projects. The position will be interesting, varied and challenging. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following key skills:

· Organisational skills are of primary importance, the ability to co-ordinate a number of internal and contractor teams across a large number of projects is essential.

· People Management, the ability to ensure that teams complete all tasks on time in a manner and demeanour expected by the business and maintain morale and work ethic across all teams.

· Detail orientated mindset, with an eye on the construction team’s efficiency in both cost and time.

· Proven track record in construction project management is preferable.

· Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience.

· Strong IT skills to ensure the utilisation of internal systems and the office suite of products or other appropriate systems to ensure the maximum productivity of the build teams

is maintained and reported accurately.

· The ability to think proactively and solve problems quickly is essential.

· A hands-on, can-do attitude with initiative to work well individually and in a team.

· Some experience of the PVC Windows, doors or conservatories industry would be preferable.

Minimum Requirements:

· 3 years of project management experience

· 3 years man management experience including contractor/third-party management.
