JobDescription As a Regional EHS Manager you willembed a highly professional and extensive regional safety frameworkthat delivers high levels of operational safety performance andensures the transformation of activity, safety standards andbehaviours through our people. To be successfulin this role you need be a good communicator and be able to buildstrong relationships. Although you will be part of a team you thisrole is standalone therefore you need to be motivated and work wellby yourself. You will need to have or be working towards a DiplomaNEBOSH. RoleResponsibilities:
  • Carryingout and completing risk assessments (Process, Workplace Transport,COSHH, Manual Handling , PUWER etc)
  • Developingand implementing all Health and Safety associated policies andprocedures, amending and updating asrequired
  • Ensuring the Health and Safetypolicies and procedures are adopted by the business and its variousoperations as appropriate.
  • Ensuring Depotsadopt appropriate Health and Safety targets and standards for theirown areas of responsibility in the control of loss and operation ofbest safety practice
  • Assisting and supportingsites, reviewing the standard of accidentinvestigations
  • Attending Health and SafetyMeetings
  • Delivering Health and SafetyTraining
  • Developing Health and Safetypresentations
  • Monitoring and auditing safetyperformance in regards to:
  • Internal safetysystems
  • Statutoryrequirements
  • Industry benchmark standardsUK
  • Industry benchmark standardsEuropean
  • Developing and maintaining effectiveworking relationships with appropriate representatives of the HSE /LA and any other appropriate externalbodies
  • Assessing the competence of externalcontractors and maintaining any approved contractorlisting
  • Compiling written briefs to update thebusiness on changes to legislation, codes of practice, industrybest practice or othersources.
Qualifications
  • Aminimum of 5 years experience in an operationally facing H&SRole
  • Previous experience of Health & Safetywithin industry, ideally transport and logistics but notessential
  • Knowledge / experience of DTAS wouldbe an advantage but not essential
  • Excellentorganisational and communicationskills
  • Computer literate with a goodunderstanding of MS office applications
  • Able towork to tight deadlines and manage own timeeffectively
  • Full UK driving licence, willing totravel as required within the UK
  • Thoroughunderstanding of current Health & Safety Legislation and itsimplementation within the workplace
  • NEBOSHCertificate minimum, Diploma / Degreedesirable
  • Member ofIOSH
