The project manager has responsibility for overseeing complex logistics projects from inception to completion, ensuring the seamless delivery of project objectives and requirements while maintaining timelines, budgets and high standards. The Project Manager will work with different areas of Ocado Logistics to deliver change and optimisation projects across the division and will be responsible for a portfolio of projects covering a variety of topics. The project manager will be part of the Programme Management team and will work across Logistics and with our retail partners and be able to bring them together to ensure projects are successfully delivered to best practice project management principles and governance. In this pivotal role, your extensive expertise as a seasoned project manager will be paramount as you orchestrate the meticulous planning, organization, and resource management necessary to achieve project objectives, within set timeframes and standards. You will craft comprehensive business cases for change, assessing solution viability, implementation logistics, and devising a clear roadmap for execution. Throughout the project lifecycle, you'll take the helm, ensuring adherence to best practices while meticulously documenting progress, budget adherence, and risk management. Juggling multifaceted projects, you'll adeptly navigate interdependencies across programs and departments, while proactively addressing risks, issues, and changes to maintain project trajectory. Your role demands adept decision-making to control scope, quality, schedule, costs, and resources in alignment with project objectives, all while championing continuous improvement and documenting lessons learned. Compliance with regulatory standards is paramount, as is fostering strong relationships and leveraging effective communication to align diverse stakeholders towards shared goals. Ultimately, your contributions will not only ensure project success but also contribute to nurturing the company culture and upholding Ocado Logistics' values. The ideal candidate for this role should be a seasoned Project Manager with a project management qualification and a demonstrated history of successfully steering large-scale, intricate projects from inception to completion. They must possess a diverse set of qualifications, skills, and attributes essential for effective project management. The candidate should excel in problem-solving, utilizing data to identify and quantify risks and issues while devising effective mitigation strategies. Superior time management and prioritization skills are necessary to navigate rapidly changing environments while maintaining focus on project objectives. Financial acumen is crucial for developing and managing project budgets while optimising resource utilisation. An understanding of quality assurance principles is required to ensure project deliverables meet stakeholder expectations and industry standards. Proficiency in working with various data sources and driving continuous improvement initiatives is paramount, ensuring project processes are optimized, efficiencies are enhanced, and greater value is delivered to stakeholders. Ideally, the candidate would also have a strong understanding of logistics processes (including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution) and experience in the application of “lean / Sigma” techniques and a strong understanding of PPM tools.
