This is such a rewarding role where you can not only apply security skills but your people skills as well. The pay rate is £9.68 per hour but can be £12.06 per hour for ad-hoc control room cover

This exciting position for a Security Officer is based at an engaging Museum in York, devoted to immersing people in the home of iconic locomotives and vast collection of engineering brilliance. As well as a Museum in Bradford exploring the transformative impact of image and sound technologies on our lives.

Whether you have worked in security before or not if you have an interest in joining a fantastic and friendly work environment, we are willing to put committed applicants through SIA training to obtain the relevant licence to fulfil this role.

In return you will be part of our first-class security team ensuring the safety of the public and staff both in the public and private areas of the museum, in addition to protecting the property and its collections. You will be expected to monitor and check passes, carry out patrols and monitor CCTV. We will require you to always show professionalism and deal with any issues found during your day with integrity and efficiency.

When necessary, you will need to respond to enquiries from members of the public politely, helpfully, and confidently, directing customers to the appropriate sources of help, therefore excellent customer service skills are required.
