The role
As a Stores Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for providing support to the Stores Supervisor for a comprehensive logistic and storage solution for Babcock and our customers.

Day-to-day, you’ll support the Stores Supervisor in the management of the stores function and act as the stores supervisor’s deputy during their absence as well as:

• Interfacing with customers, suppliers and colleagues to contribute to the smooth running of the stores functions
• Carrying out asset audits and controlling project inventory database as directed by the stores supervisor
• Utilising the quarantine procedure for project related goods in
• Liaising with the Installation Team Leaders and Project Managers for notification of delays to equipment returns, which may impact project delivery
• Being responsible for the preparation, organisation tasking and completion of assigned stores activities

This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and is based at Scarborough.

Essential experience of the Stores Operative

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow stores team members, clients and superiors
• Must possess relevant, practical experience in a related environment
• Must possess an adequate knowledge of and compliance with the health and safety policy and regulations 

Qualifications for the Stores Operative

• Minimum GCSE level Maths and English
• Must possess, or be willing to obtain a forklift driving license
• Possess a full, UK driving licence

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
