Manufacturing Manager

£41,000 - £50,000, Rotherham, Permanent, 22 days annual leave plus stats (30 in total) increasing to 35 days, private health care, pension, free car parking, bonus schemes, permanent nights 10pm -6am or days and nights rotating

We are proud to be working in partnership with an innovative, modern manufacturing business based in Rotherham to recruit for a Manufacturing Manager within a castings company on a full time permanent basis. This client boasts an extremely healthy order book, excellent working conditions and future progression plans for their employees.

Reporting into the Head of Department you will be responsible for managing a team of 8 Operatives. Day to day responsibilities for the Manufacturing Manager will include;

• Responsible for labour output
• Assigning daily workloads to Operatives within the department
• Attending daily production meetings providing updates including any delays in orders and working closely with the Manufacturing Manager and other members of the SMT
• Responsible for hand tool maintenance and management
• Ensure the priority orders are managed accordingly
• Update the WIP system
• Order materials as required
• Be involved in risk assessments, operating procedures and safety improvements as well as and 5s advances - and be able to act on those findings
• Have a good experience and understanding of this type of manufacturing cell and help to achieve excellent equipment OEE
• Provide ongoing training and development to the operatives within the department

This role would suit someone who is currently working as a Castings Finishing Manager, Foundry Supervisor, Production Team Leader, Manufacturing Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor or Shift Manager within a Manufacturing, Production, Steel or Castings Environment.

You will;

• Be confident interpreting drawings
• Have previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment including working with hand tools, measuring equipment, route cards
• Show good analytical thought process with the ability to be an active team member in finding route cause issue on component and product faults and equipment issues.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Minimum of 2 years previous experience of working in a manufacturing / engineering environment is required involving either steel or metals ideally.
