Mechanical Technician

We are looking for a Mechanical Technician, at our Rotherham site, to maintain site and manufacturing plant, assets and equipment in line with maintenance plans, and safety and quality standards, to maximise asset life and availability. About the role

The Mechanical Technicians role will include carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment to reduce potential for breakdown and minimise the impact on production. You will also carry out root cause analysis of any unplanned outages and fault diagnosis on equipment, identifying and implementing actions to prevent reoccurrence.

The role will include supporting implementation and commissioning of plant improvement projects so that improvements are implemented and handed over in a safe manner.

You will have a proactive approach to safety, considering your own safety and that of colleagues and visitors at all times. You will also support the development of and updating of maintenance procedures and documentation associated with the plant, assets and equipment.

As Mechanical Technician you will ensure all the relevant management systems are kept up to date, and timely and accurate feedback is given to customers and line management on the status of ongoing tasks. You will also identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the remit of the role.

Your Experience

We are looking for someone who has previously worked within the chemical industry with demonstrable experience on COMAH or PPC industrial plants. You should also have experience in mechanical disciplines.

Our ideal candidate would have a excellent standard and understanding of safety and working within hazardous areas.

It would also be an advantage if you have coached less experienced team members previously, such as apprentices or new starters

It is essential that you have a HNC, or equivalent qualification or experience, within a relevant discipline. About Victrex
