Reporting to the Production Manager & Purchasing Manager, you'll play a key role in sourcing, developing, and purchasing materials for our production processes. Job Title: Production/Materials Buyer As a Production Buyer, you will: Manage a portfolio of formats/categories under the supervision of the Production Manager, from costing through to purchase order. Negotiate costs and agree schedules with support from the Production Manager. Source and develop a range of components essential for our production processes. Ensure quality control measures are in place and conduct regular factory audits to uphold quality standards. Stay updated on safety legislation and participate in relevant training and development activities. Collaborate with the Sales team to understand customer requirements, including schedules and packing needs. Work closely with the Production Control team to manage upcoming orders, schedules, and dummy requirements. Maintain accurate records in our database, including product costs, component costs, safety information, and shipping details. Identify and implement new procedures as needed, in collaboration with the Production Manager, and contribute ideas for system improvements. Lead production development and innovation projects in coordination with other departments. Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of production processes and materials sourcing. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
