Reporting to the Lead Subsea Project Engineer, the Senior Project Engineer is to:

• Provide Subsea Project Engineering expertise and support from Westhill office to support projects around the world.
• Liaise with project engineering teams and project managers in other offices in Perth and Singapore to support worldwide projects.
• Work alongside other members of Subsea function also based in the Westhill office.
• Support the safe planning and execution of project work, including performing offshore and site-based work.
• Support the development and submission of tenders.
• Mentor other engineers.
• Report manning and resourcing requirements to management.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified to Bachelor or Masters level in Engineering, Naval Architecture or a similar discipline.

Training

• BOSIET - preferred but not mandatory
• Chartered Engineer or similar international qualification - preferred but not essential
• Recognised project management qualification - preferred but not essential

Experience
Essential

• Relevant experience in a similar role
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel
• Demonstrable analytical capabilities

Desired

• Exposure to subsea survey, inspection and maintenance operations
• Exposure to subsea construction operations
• Marine operations experience
• Structural or Naval Architectural Design, especially of temporary items such as sea-fastenings and installation aids.

Key Duties
Managerial

• Coordinate priorities and scheduling of engineering activities and personnel.
• Manage procurement and fabrication packages.
• Assign day to day engineering design tasks to Project and Graduate Engineers and Designers to meet varied project and internal engineering requests and monitor progress against schedules and deadlines.
• Act as a key project interface between internal and external customers, including monitoring and reporting of project costs and project progress as well as on going communication to ensure project delivery in line with Client's expectations.
• Develop and maintain contact with existing customer's organisations and in potential customer organisations.
• Perform Project Manager duties, as required, for small work scopes. This involves interfacing with client and overall project delivery and financial performance.

Commercial

• Provide man hours, cost, and technical input into tenders.
• Ensure that all individuals seek to identify changes and opportunities for (commercial project) variations and inform the project manager

Technical

• Provide expert technical knowledge to the engineering team covering a range of offshore and subsea engineering, installation, inspection, maintenance, repair and operation knowledge.
• Work with Project Managers and others to generate CTRs and Engineering Task Descriptions to define the work needed to be conducted for specific scopes.
• Generate engineering calculations, reports, specifications, procedures and engineered solutions in a timely manner to meet internal and external requests and any other project specific requirements.
• Develop, in conjunction with CAD designers, all the required layout drawings, detail drawings, schematics and lists of materials necessary to support the engineering work.
• Work closely with other Engineers to ensure a consistent overall approach to projects and all other works completed with the discipline area.
• Manage external engineering companies or other Engineering resources within different parts of the organisation which may be utilised to carry out work.
• Be able to work within an engineering / drafting team which is spread between the Westhill, Perth and Singapore Offices.
• Guide and mentor other engineers to assist in skill knowledge development across the Engineering Team
• Provide office based technical support to offshore operations as required on installation and IRM projects during project execution phase.
• Maintain an up to date knowledge and understanding of relevant technology and standards/regulatory advances within the offshore energy industry
• Ensure that design work is conducted in line with client and regulatory standards and guidelines and with consideration for HSEQ, schedule and budget requirements
• Compile and maintain equipment lists.

Operational

• Undertake offshore and site-based works as required during project execution phase.
