Job Description - Educake- Events Marketing Executive

Join Our Team as Events Marketing Executive at Educake!

Location: Oxford, UK/ hybrid - working in the office 2 days a week

Hours: Full time (35 hours a week) or part time considered

Salary: £28,000-£32,000 per annum

Educake is an award-winning and rapidly growing educational technology business providing online teaching and learning resources to hundreds of thousands of teachers and students around the world. We are based in Oxford. 

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Events Marketing Executive to join our team. You’ll be the bridge between our events and marketing teams and will play crucial role in coordinating all marketing efforts related to our events, ensuring seamless integration and maximum exposure across various channels. 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning: develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote company events, aligning with overall marketing objectives and business goals.
  • Coordination: collaborate closely with the events team to understand event goals, target audience and logistics, while also liaising with the marketing team to align messaging, branding, and promotional efforts.
  • Social media event management: oversee all social media channels, creating engaging content to promote events, drive attendance, and generate excitement among our target audience. 
  • Content creation: create compelling marketing collateral to effectively communicate event details and value proposition. Collateral to include: printed materials; webpages; email campaigns; social posts.
  • Provide marketing support during event execution, including on-site branding, social media coverage, and post-event follow-up to ensure a post-event engagement.
  • Ensuring all leads are updated following an event. Research into potential opportunities for follow-up - sharing information as required with Account Management team. 
  • Performance tracking and reporting: monitor and analyse the performance of event marketing campaigns and channels, leveraging data insights to optimise strategies and achieve maximum ROI.
  • Reporting on event ROI monthly, with 6-month, 12-month and 18-month review of past events.
  • Taking part in the post-event review, including using data to identify ways to improve event communications and promotion
  • Ownership of marketing tools for events eg. virtual platforms, CVent, Whova, Gov.net 

Please note: 

Due to the nature of events, from time to time there will be a requirement to work on weekends, holidays, early mornings and evenings to deliver events globally. Overtime will be paid in accordance with management approval. Some travel to events will be required as part of this role. 

Skills you’ll need for this role: 

  • Experience in events marketing or related roles, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital marketing techniques, and analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills to handle projects with short and long lead times.
  • Good eye for detail, excellent written English and proven writing ability.
  • Excellent verbal communicator - able to empathise with teachers (customers and non-customers)
  • Comfortable working with data.
  • Happy working as part of a busy collaborative team, and occasionally being asked to pick up other related marketing/event tasks. 
  • Ability to work as a team to plan and execute a range of live, virtual and hybrid events.
  • Capable of managing assigned events under limited supervision; able to use initiative and problem solve. 
  • IT literate and confident with Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, Canva and Google Analytics.

Desirable: 

  • Experience or knowledge of the education sector.
  • Knowledge of event management software and CRM systems.
  • Experience using Mailchimp.
  • Experience using Canva and Indesign.
