About the Role:
Due to the ongoing growth of the company, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented WordPress/web Developer to join our dynamic marketing team. We are looking for an individual with a passion for web development, onsite and offsite SEO, and digital marketing experience to enhance our campaigns, brand awareness, and market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new websites for business partners or new products.
- Maintain and update a portfolio of existing websites, ensuring all plugins and custom code are fully functional and up-to-date.
- Design, implement, and maintain custom WordPress plugins to extend site functionality.
- Develop custom functionality for improved user experience and engagement.
- Take full responsibility for the development and management of all company websites.
- Create and maintain web pages for new and existing content.
- Analyse site visits, clicks, and user behaviour to generate detailed reports on customer usage and site performance.
- Develop and maintain interactive elements such as quizzes, polls, and surveys.
- Create website assets using Adobe Suite and other design tools.
- Ensure seamless integration of websites with external systems (e.g. Mailchimp, Xero).
- Set up and manage user accounts for clients to access member areas.
- Provide regular reports on website progress, analytics, and SEO performance.
- Advise and guide senior stakeholders on potential SEO improvements to increase traffic and usage.
- Implement and report on changes made to SEO, tracking their impact on site performance.
- Optimise website performance, security, and scalability through best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and technologies to continually enhance our development processes.
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Manage and maintain version control and deployment processes for WordPress projects.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development.
- Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL.
- Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, core functionalities, and best practices.
- Experience with popular WordPress plugins and frameworks (e.g., WooCommerce, Elementor, ACF).
- Ability to develop custom WordPress plugins from scratch based on client requirements.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services into WordPress.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and deployment workflows.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A portfolio of WordPress projects demonstrating your skills and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of SEO best practices and their implementation in WordPress.
- Experience with database management and SQL queries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bsc Honors
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks and building tools
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with website performance optimisation techniques.
- Understanding of SEO best practices and their implementation in WordPress.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, GraduateContract length: 12 months
Pay: £25,000.00 per year
