Job Advert: Quantity Surveyor (Mixed Utilities) - Leeds Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a diverse background in utilities? We have an exciting opportunity with a leading company in the industry, based in Leeds. Our client, a well-established and reputable firm, is seeking a talented individual to join their dynamic team. Position: Quantity Surveyor (Mixed Utilities) Location: Leeds Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. You will work on a variety of projects within the utilities sector, including water, gas, electricity, and telecommunications. Your role will involve cost management, contract administration, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage project budgets and cost estimates. Conduct detailed risk analysis and management. Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual terms. Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery. Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management. Evaluate and negotiate contract variations and claims. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with industry standards and regulations. Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the utilities sector. Strong knowledge of contract law and standard forms of contract used in the industry. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in the use of relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, CostX, or similar). Strong communication and negotiation skills.
