1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 3) – Full-Time | Firswood | September Start
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Firswood to recruit a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from September.
This rewarding role is ideal for a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, SEND professionals, and parents to provide tailored support that enables the pupil to thrive both academically and socially.
The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to a pupil with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential skills within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN throughout the school day Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of the child Support the pupil's academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development Implement strategies from Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where applicable Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and achieve learning targets Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil and their family Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Record observations and provide regular feedback to teaching staff What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential) Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, either in a school or specialist setting Knowledge of additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health needs A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach Strong communication and interpersonal skills The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents A commitment to inclusion and supporting every child to succeed A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities About the School

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
