16+ Support Worker - Supported Living

Location: Bridgwater

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £31,199 per annum (unqualified) / £33,176 per annum (qualified – NVQ Level 3 or above)

Hours of work/shift pattern: 2 on, 4 off shift pattern


The Opportunity

We’re looking for a compassionate and proactive Supported Living Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you’ll support young people aged 16+ to develop independence, build life skills, and move confidently towards independent living.

Key Responsibilities


• Provide high -quality, person -centred support in line with individual support and pathway plans
• Support young people to develop independence skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a tenancy
• Promote engagement in education, training, and employment opportunities
• Build positive, professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
• Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, risk assessments, and key -work reports
• Work collaboratively with social workers, education providers, and other professionals
• Respond calmly and effectively to safeguarding concerns, incidents, and crisis situations

Supported Living

Empower Family Group’s Supported Living service provides longer -term care for young people who are often navigating life without a consistent support network. Many come from complex or challenging backgrounds and need stability, structure, and guidance to move forward positively.

We provide safe, nurturing homes staffed by highly trained professionals who offer a strong foundation for growth and development. Through a phased support model, we guide young people from fully staffed homes towards semi -independent living and ultimately into their own tenancies.

Our dedicated team works collaboratively to build confidence, resilience, and hope for the future — empowering every young person to achieve their potential.

Right to Work

This role is only open to applicants who have the legal right to work in the UK. We are unable to consider applications from individuals who do not hold Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), Settled Status, Pre -Settled Status, or another form of long -term work authorisation.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently, including lone working
• Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable:

• NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Health & Social Care / Children & Young People
• Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and risk management practices
