Job Description - 1st Line Support

Job Title: 1st Line IT Support Technician

Location: Hull

I'm currently working on behalf of a client in Hull who is looking to recruit a proactive and enthusiastic 1st Line IT Support Technician to join their internal IT department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, supportive team where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to grow your technical skillset.

The Role:

This is a fully office-based role, supporting internal users across the business. As the first point of contact, you'll play a vital role in resolving day-to-day IT issues and ensuring seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for IT queries via phone, email, and live chat
  • Accurately log and track issues using the company's central service desk system
  • Provide effective 1st line support for software, hardware, and internal systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, and Microsoft Office
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and repairs of IT hardware and software
  • Support end-users with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Active Directory
  • Collaborate with the wider IT team to escalate and resolve more complex issues
  • Deliver excellent customer service with a helpful and professional approach

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience providing 1st line IT support in a commercial environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows, macOS, and Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
  • Familiarity with Active Directory administration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn
