1st/2nd Line IT Support Administrator - Poole - Up to £32,000
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive 1st/2nd Line IT Support Administrator to provide day-to-day technical support across systems, networks, and business applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with technologies such as Windows Server, Azure, Intune, and VMWare, and be confident handling support tickets, system setups, and troubleshooting issues. Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line technical support to end users
  • Managing and updating tickets via the Incident Management System
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software
  • Setting up user accounts and workstations
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
  • Maintaining IT security, backups, and firewalls
  • Supporting network servers and technology tools
  • Creating and updating technical documentation and IT policies
  • Assisting with system upgrades and new technology rollouts
  • Liaising with third-party support when required
  • Collecting and reporting on team performance KPIs
  • Supporting wider IT team during high workload or staff absence

You'll Bring:

  • Solid experience in 1st and 2nd line IT support roles
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Azure, Intune, and VMWare
  • Confident troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Understanding of IT security best practices, including backups and firewalls
  • Ability to manage support tickets efficiently and prioritise workload
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment and support across different sites
  • Team player mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
