2D CAD Engineer / Estimator

Location: Dudley
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
1 hour lunch break per day (39.5 hours per week)

Our client, a well-established and growing engineering company based in Dudley, is looking to expand their dynamic team with the addition of a 2D CAD Engineer/Estimator. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business that values hard work, flexibility and innovation.

The Role:

As a 2D CAD Engineer/Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Producing accurate 2D profile drawings using AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting software
• Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
• Assisting with estimates and quotations based on customer requirements
• Supporting production planning and ensuring drawings are manufacturing-ready
• Communicating effectively with internal departments and clients to clarify technical requirements

What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking a proactive and skilled individual who possesses the following:

• Proven experience using AutoCAD or other 2D CAD software
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical schematics
• Knowledge of material types such as S275, S355, CR4, 304, 316, etc.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
• A team-player attitude and willingness to support other roles as needed

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing setting
• Familiarity with Lantek software
• Estimating experience within a fabrication or CNC profiling environment
