Job Description - 2nd Line Engineer

Job Title: 2nd Line Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 (DOE)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Verus Recruitment has a great opportunity for a 2nd Line Engineer at a local MSP. Our client prioritizes their culture and reputation, earning multiple awards for their excellence. In this role, you'll provide technical support to clients both remotely and on-site.
Technical knowledge:

Knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Server, user accounts, file management, and troubleshooting

Basic understanding of macOS interface, system preferences, and software installations

Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Exchange Online

Basic understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, and DNS

Router configuration skills, including NAT and port forwarding

Understanding of DHCP and dynamic IP assignment

VPN setup and troubleshooting

Familiarity with computer components and hardware setup

Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions

Experience with peripheral devices like printers and scanners

Basic knowledge of smartphones and tablets

Usage of remote desktop software

Software installation on various operating systems

Awareness of OS and software updates

Basic knowledge of antivirus software for system protection

Familiarity with remote assistance tools
