We are looking for an experienced 2nd Line IT/Hardware Engineer to join our growing Managed Print Services team. The successful candidate will support customer deployments, configure print infrastructure, troubleshoot technical issues, fault find and preventative maintenance of the fleet of machines and work alongside our Senior IT Engineer and hardware team to deliver high-quality installations and ongoing customer support.
This role is ideal for someone with a Full UK driving licence, strong Windows and networking knowledge who enjoys working with print management solutions and customer-facing projects. The ideal candidate would have experience working on Xerox and Ricoh MFD product ranges.
Location: London and surrounding Home Counties (with customer site visits)
Salary: £36,000–£38,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities
* Install and configure printer and multifunction device (MFD) fleets.
* Deploy and support Print Audit software and PaperCut solutions.
* Configure Windows Print Servers, print queues and drivers.
* Troubleshoot printer, scanning and network connectivity issues.
* Assist with customer migrations and technical projects.
* Perform site surveys and installation planning.
* Provide remote and on-site technical support.
* Escalate complex issues to the Senior IT Engineer when required.
* Produce clear technical documentation and installation reports.
* Preventative maintenance, Breakdowns
* Firmware Upgrades
Essential Skills
* Experience in a 2nd Line IT Support or Field Engineer role.
* Strong knowledge of Windows desktop and Windows Server environments.
* Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS and DHCP.
* Experience configuring print queues, printer drivers and network printers.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with PaperCut MF or PaperCut Hive.
* Experience with Print Audit software.
* Knowledge of managed print services (MPS).
* Experience with Xerox, Ricoh devices.
