CNC Miller (4-Axis Machines) Automotive/Aerospace/Defence/ Motorsport Location: Basildon, Essex Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Circa £20p/h Hours: Full Time | Permanent [40 p/w]
We are seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join our growing manufacturing team. Working within a fast-paced innovative, precision engineering environment, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and running 4-axis CNC milling machines to produce high-quality components for the Automotive/Aerospace/Defence/Motorsport Industries. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing precision parts and maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Set, operate, moniter 4-axis CNC milling machines. Manufacture precision automotive components to engineering drawings and specifications. Perform machine set-ups, tool changes, and offset adjustments. Produce first-off inspections and ensure components meet quality standards. Conduct in-process quality checks using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and CMM reports where required. Optimise machine performance and cycle times. Troubleshoot machining issues and identify process improvements. Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organised working environment.Requirements Essential Proven experience as a CNC Miller within a precision engineering or low volume automotive/aerospace manufacturing environment. Strong experience operating and setting 3 axis and 4-axis CNC milling machines. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Knowledge of tight tolerance machining techniques. Competent in the use of inspection and measuring equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Desirable CNC programming experience (Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, or similar controls). Experience producing aerospace, motorsport, performance automotive, or high-precision engineering components. Apprentice-trained engineering background.
