AAT Trainee Accountant

We are partnering with a highly reputable, national, firm of Chartered Accountants to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic, trainee to join their AAT training programme. The role sits in their general practice team, which will give you exposure to not just one area of the business but will assist the audit, accounts and tax teams, giving you a solid platform with which to build your career from.

In this Trainee post you will:

• Prepare working papers to support financial statements
• Post accounts to the system
• Prepare; VAT and bank reconciliations; summary of debtors, creditors pre-payments and accruals
• Supporting the audit team, undertaking systems testing, balance sheet test and assist with stock take
• Assist with tax such as prepare draft tax returns -both personal and corporate
• Filing said returns

You will join an extremely encouraging and collaborative team, with fully paid study support provided and the opportunity to progress internally will be available to you.

To be considered you will be looking for your first move into finance, having completed your A levels or GCSE’s achieving grade 6 upwards in GCSE English and Maths, and good A level or BTEC results in a related subjects (Business, Economics, Maths) circa 120 UCAS Points.

You’ll be motivated to learn, a team player, have good IT skills including strong MS Office, have clear and concise communication skills and be highly organised.

It is also imperative that you hold a current drivers licence for when having to travel to a clients' premises.
