They provide specialist accredited expertise, design and co-create innovative solutions, and collaborate with strategic partners such as Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, IBM, etc., to deliver tangible business outcomes.Role Overview: Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Account Director to engage and develop central government customers and supporting agencies in the UK. This key hire will join an established team and will be highly motivated to unlock new opportunities, develop strategic relationships, secure new logos, and make a significant impact on customer engagement. This is a blended role that includes managing cross-sell and up-sell opportunities for existing customers and generating and closing opportunities with new named customers.Key Responsibilities:Create focused account capture and development plans for named/new clients to maximize opportunities, including multi-level contact strategies for structured engagement and predictable business development.Build effective, tactical, and strategic level relationships with named clients and maintain an intimate understanding of their business, regional initiatives, and networks.Establish a strong pipeline of well-qualified business opportunities, demonstrating understanding and control of customer buying criteria and processes.Act as the client’s single point of contact, assisting in the formation of business-enabling IT strategies, and providing them with access to senior management and subject matter experts across the company and its partners.Provide proactive client value and thought leadership to customers/prospects regarding technology and sector trends, establishing the company as the go-to partner for innovation and strategic direction.Leverage existing frameworks to facilitate direct award, sole source, and pace of contracting.Develop effective investment/efficiency ROI modeling to demonstrate client financial advantage.Collaborate and engage regularly with strategic partners and vendor relationships to leverage opportunities, stakeholders, indirect networks, and events.Manage the wider commercial relationship, including but not limited to aged debt, payment, and conditions of business.Additional Responsibilities:Support the effective engagement of colleagues to improve customer experience.Encourage changes in the use of the company's products and services.Support the development of new products/service solutions.Proactively support regional sales strategy, including direction, investment, partners, and events.Translate the benefits of working with the company in terms of social value.Key Qualifications:Proven experience in central government sales across the UK, with the gravitas to build trust and inspire clients.Evidence of winning new government contracts in a competitive environment.Existing and current stakeholder relationships across the public sector in the UK.Adept at business development and shaping multiple opportunities.Strong appreciation of IT, digital, and data requirements and drivers in respect of the local government sector.Experience with Microsoft, Cisco, and AWS.Familiar with working across Public Sector frameworks, locally and nationally.Skilled in developing pricing/business case models through effective benefits management.Strong planning, communication, and presentation skills.Comprehensive knowledge of the structure, skills, and business environment of local government organizations.Customer-focused with a professional services orientation.Ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding of customer organizations and requirements.Alignment with company values: commitment, collaboration, inclusion, innovation, and inspiration.
