Account Manager

My client is looking for an experienced and organised Account Manager to manage a portfolio of client accounts and support day-to-day accounting and compliance activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in an accountancy practice or finance environment, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of client accounts and maintain accurate financial records

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts

• Complete bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance

• Prepare and review VAT returns and support HMRC compliance

• Assist with payroll processing where required

• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and client transactions

• Support year-end accounts and audit preparation

• Review financial information and investigate discrepancies

• Act as a key point of contact for client accounting queries and build/maintain strong professional client relationships

• Support clients with accounting software and financial documentation

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, HMRC requirements and internal procedures

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems

Skills & Experience

• AAT, ACCA, CIMA, Finance Graduate or equivalent experience/qualification

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice or finance environment

• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and financial reporting

• Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar accounting software

• Strong organisational and analytical skills

• Confident and professional communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively

• High level of confidentiality and professionalism
