Accountancy Practice Accountant

A growing firm of accountants based in Harrogate is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join their professional and close-knit team.

This role can be fulfilled on a part time, full time or condensed hours basis. The salary band is £50,000 - £65,000.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and motivated individual to manage a varied client portfolio, contribute to team development, and play a key role in the continued success of the practice.

The successful candidate will be ACCA or ACA qualified (or qualified by experience) and will bring strong technical ability, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to work independently while supporting and supervising junior team members. This is a hands-on role with genuine career progression potential, including the opportunity to move into a leadership position within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships, LLPs, Limited Companies, Group Companies, Trusts, and Charities
• Managing your own portfolio of clients and providing proactive client support
• Conducting on-site client visits and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supervising and mentoring less experienced staff
• Producing management reports and contributing to client planning
• Supporting the firm’s continued growth through high-quality service delivery

Required Skills & Experience:

• ACCA/ACA qualified or qualified by experience with current or previous accountancy practice experience.
• Excellent organisational and numeracy skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in accounting software.
• A proactive, client-focused mindset with a hands-on approach to work
