Our client, based in Exeter, is currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role provides the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement.

As the Accountant, you will play a key role in managing comprehensive financial operations, with a strong emphasis on accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, timely closings, and ongoing process enhancements.

The responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end finance operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Maintain compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and approve team-prepared journal entries and reconciliations.
• Strengthen internal controls to guarantee data accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to gather data for reporting and analysis.
• Develop financial reports and presentations for leadership, emphasising trends and variances.
• Optimise finance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitor updates in accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance.

The candidate:

• A seasoned accounting professional with a financial qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent certification.
• Expertise in financial operations and reporting.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills focused on enhancing financial and process efficiency.
• Strong communicator adept at translating complex financial data into actionable insights.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft office.
