Job Description - ACCOUNTANT

Our client, a_TECH business based near_HOLBORN STATION, is seeking an accomplished ACCOUNTANT to join whilst they begin their next exciting growth phase. This is an incredible time to join this amazing business who really value their staff.

PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS BASED IN THE OFFICE 3 DAYS A WEEK (Two days from home)

THE ROLE

  • Preparation of management accounts on a timely basis with commentary, including posting of all entries in the ledgers and performing associated reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, fixed asset, intangibles, payroll etc)
  • Preparation of accurate and timely results including a first pass of the primary Financial Statements
  • Cashflow: regular cash flow monitoring and forecasting
  • Systems and processes: continually review current systems and processes and implement efficiency improvements to fit with the needs of the business
  • Oversee and maintain the purchase ledger, manage payments, company credit cards, set up payment runs, process expenses, deal with supplier queries
  • Oversee and maintain the sales ledger, prepare and send out sales invoices, manage credit control and customer queries, perform monthly reconciliations, and prepare monthly sales analysis
  • Banking: responsibility for account administration, setting up payment runs and supplier payments, posting of transactions to General Ledger and reconciling
  • Xero Payroll: full responsibility for processing an accurate and timely monthly payroll. This includes liaising with HR consultant on new joiners and leavers, making any benefit adjustments, updating HMRC information, processes payments, pay PAYE/NI to HMRC and organising annual payroll tasks such as P60’s / Class 4 NIC
  • VAT return quarterly: prepare and submit quarterly return. Perform quarterly reconciliation
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with the external auditors ensuring an efficient and smooth audit process
  • Opportunity to expand responsibilities into the Business Planning side on merit

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Part Qualified Accountant
  • Proven track record of General Ledger management
  • Experience / know how for preparing Financial Statements
  • Good technical knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Track record of preparation of management accounts
  • Experience with Xero advantageous
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
