I'm partnered with a global multi-site business who are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Stock Accountant to join the finance team in Oxford. This hybrid role (2 days per week in the office) offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of inventory accounting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of stock records and financial reporting.

• Maintain and reconcile stock accounts across multiple locations and systems

• Ensure accurate valuation of inventory in line with accounting standards

• Monitor and report on stock variances, write-offs, and obsolete inventory

• Partner with supply chain and operations to ensure stock integrity

• Perform regular stock audits and cycle counts; investigate discrepancies

• Provide monthly stock-related reports to management and auditors

• Support month-end and year-end close processes with stock data and analysis

• Assist with system improvements and process automation related to stock control

• Proven experience as a Stock Accountant, Inventory Accountant, or similar role

• Strong knowledge of stock accounting principles and inventory valuation methods

• Proficient in Excel and experience with accounting/ERP systems

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally

• Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) preferred but not essential
