Accountant

We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join our dynamic and growing client based in Hoddesdon. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong practice experience to take on a varied and hands-on role within a supportive and professional team. The role is a full-time permanent position and you will be required to work full-time (9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday with 1 hour lunch) onsite in the Hoddesdon office. This role offers a competitive salary and it is dependent on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage month-end and year-end accounts for a range of clients
• Handle CIS returns and liaise with clients to ensure timely and accurate submissions
• Process payroll and maintain payroll systems in accordance with HMRC guidelines
• Maintain and reconcile financial records using a variety of accounting software
• Ensure accurate data entry, bank reconciliations, and ledger management
• Liaise with clients and HMRC as required on tax and accounting matters
• Support senior accountants and partners with ad hoc duties and reporting
• Corporation Tax computations and returns
• Personal Tax returns
• Bookkeeping
• Management accounts production

Software Experience Required:

• Sage Cloud
• Sage 50
• FreeAgent
• QuickBooks
• Xero
• Payroll Systems

Requirements:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential
• Solid understanding of UK accounting standards and HMRC compliance
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with clients professionally
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Accounting qualification desirable, but not essential as would consider candidates who are qualified with experience.
