Accountant Role

Location: Portsmouth (5x days in the office)

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000

Practice Experience Preferred, AAT Level 4 Essential

Our client is a friendly and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Portsmouth, and we're looking for a motivated Accounts professional to join their growing team.

Requirements:

• AAT Level 4 qualification (essential)
• ATT or similar tax qualification (ideal)
• Strong practice experience
• Comfortable managing your own client portfolio
• Excellent communication skills and a team player mindset
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to the growth of the firm
• Experience reviewing junior team member's work is a bonus

Responsibilities:

• Preparing sole trader and partnership accounts and tax returns
• Preparing Ltd company accounts and tax returns (FRS105 and FRS102 S1a)
• Filing VAT and CIS returns
• Managing client queries by phone, email, and meetings
• Reviewing junior staff work and drafting year-end client letters
