Job Title: Accountant

Location: Leicester (On-site)

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

A growing business in the construction sector is looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to strengthen its finance team. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, and compliance across multiple entities. Working closely with senior management, you’ll provide valuable insights that support decision-making and long-term growth.

What You’ll Do:

• Take ownership of monthly and year-end accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare management reports, financial statements, and consolidated accounts.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews, providing analysis on variances and trends.
• Oversee cash flow, including preparation of forecasts and monitoring day-to-day movements.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Provide financial analysis to assist with commercial and operational decisions.
• Maintain oversight of intercompany transactions and financing arrangements.
• Contribute to internal reviews, controls, and process improvements.
• Offer guidance and support to junior accounts staff within the team.
• Get involved in payroll and ledger tasks as required.

What We’re Looking For in an Accountant:

• AAT/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 experience in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, compliance, and statutory reporting.
• Skilled in preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
• Confident working across multiple cost centres.
• Proficient in Sage accounting software.
• Detail-focused with the ability to interpret and explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
