Accountant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join a friendly and supportive finance team based in Billingham.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organised, and eager to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis.

You will be working closely with experienced colleagues who provide a supportive environment, making this an excellent position whether you are looking to progress your career or prefer to remain focused on core accounting duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments
• Post journals accurately and on time
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Prepare and submit monthly CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns
• Prepare and submit quarterly onshore intermediaries reports
• Manage the purchase ledger across multiple group companies
• Oversee the invoicing function to ensure sales accuracy

Requirements

• Knowledge of Sage is advantageous
• Familiarity with the Construction Industry Scheme is a plus
• Understanding of payroll processes is beneficial

Additional information:

• Competitive salary: £40,000–£45,000 (negotiable based on experience)
