Housing Plus Group is seeking to appoint an Accountant – Customer Experience & Assets on an 18–24 month fixed-term contract as part of a wider campaign to recruit six key roles into its Finance function.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting the financial integration of services following the merger, helping to align systems, reporting, controls and business processes across the Customer Experience Directorate.

The successful candidate will support financial management, reporting, controls, business partnering and operational insight across housing management, routine repairs and wider customer-facing services during an important period of organisational transformation.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance – Customer Experience & Assets, the Accountant will support post-merger financial integration activities across the Customer Experience Directorate.

The role has been established specifically to support the alignment of systems, processes and financial reporting arrangements following the merger and will work across a number of operational service areas including repairs, housing management and commercial activities.

The successful candidate will provide financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, controls support, business partnering and operational insight while helping ensure financial processes remain consistent, accurate and effective throughout the integration programme.

Key Areas of Responsibility Will Include:

* Supporting the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts across housing management and routine repairs services.

* Providing financial insight and business partnering support to operational managers and budget holders.

* Supporting post-merger integration of financial systems, reporting arrangements and processes.

* Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.

* Supporting year-end procedures, audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements.

* Maintaining job costing information and supporting operational teams with financial data accuracy.

* Supporting system housekeeping, reconciliations and transactional data integrity.

* Assisting with business cases, transformation projects and service improvement initiatives.

* Supporting financial controls, governance and compliance requirements.

* Working closely with Housing, Repairs, ICT, Asset Management and Development teams.

* Supporting continuous improvement in reporting, systems and operational decision-making.

About You

We are looking for a finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can combine strong technical financial skills with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

You Will Need To Demonstrate:

* A recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or a minimum of three years' experience within a senior finance role alongside AAT qualification.

* Strong technical accounting expertise.

* Advanced Excel skills.

* Experience of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

* Strong business partnering and stakeholder engagement skills.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

* Experience of working with operational stakeholders.

* The ability to support systems, process and reporting improvements.

* The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Experience within housing, repairs, maintenance, customer services or operational finance environments would be advantageous.

The Role Offers:

Salary of £49,200 per annum.
