Accountant, EMEA

Cold Chain Technologies supports the global pharmaceutical and life science industries delivering lifesaving temperature-controlled shipments. Our uniquely innovative containers maintain the cold chain, preventing shipments being spoiled or delayed, and delivering temperature sensitive products to patients on time and to help save lives.

To support our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Accountant to join our EMEA team. This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) looking to develop within a structured international finance environment.

Job Description and Responsibility:

Summary:

Supporting the Finance Function and Business in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting by preparing balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close tasks and maintaining strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Month End

• Assist and take responsibility in the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met


• Being an active team member looking for improvements and innovations


• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring all balances are fully supported


• Investigate and resolve variances and discrepancies

Balance Sheet & Controls

• Prepare timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations


• Ensure all reconciliations have appropriate supporting documentation


• Present reconciliations to the corporate team in the US identifying and escalating any risks or unusual items


• Support the maintenance of robust financial controls and processes

EMEA Fixed Assets & Fleet

• Maintenance and reporting of fixed and fleet asset registers, including recording depreciation, variance to project spending, projections on capital spend, and following up with project managers on timing of capitalization

• Coordinate with the Accounts Payable Department to ensure all vendor invoices for fixed assets are properly recorded (tax, freight, PPV, etc recorded as capital rather than expense) and ensure a proper filing system is maintained for each project allowing ease of access for all of accounting department

 Audit & Tax Compliance 

• Support for all internal and external audits, providing supporting documentation for all general ledger balances


• Prepare and submit tax related reporting (federal, state, local, including VAT and specialized tax returns)


• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies


• Support process improvements and documentation

Business Support 

• Assist the finance function and business with financial analysis and reporting


• Power BI – Take ownership of the current suite of BI reports and lead on additional report requests, liaising with IT for any specific data requirements

Job Requirements:

Education 

• Part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)


• Associates or bachelor’s in accounting, preferred

Experience  

• Minimum 2+ years of applicable accounting experience


• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities


• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, month end closings and journals


• Experience working with ERP systems


• Good Excel skills


• Proficient with MS Office (Excel) and Power BI


• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus


• Attention to detail without losing the general picture
