Job Description - Accounting & Financial Reporting Assistant Manager : Top 15

Accounting and Advisory Assistant Manager

A well established team within this Top 15 firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting and Advisory Assistant Manager to join their growing Accounting & Business Advisory team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with clients, managing a varied portfolio, and supporting the development of junior team members.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services to a broad client base, while building strong working relationships and contributing to the wider success of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review draft financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and consistency with client records
  • Prepare and review consolidated and group company accounts
  • Review draft audited financial statements and liaise with audit teams to resolve queries
  • Assist with advisory assignments and wider client service projects
  • Review corporation tax computations for accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor statutory filing deadlines and oversee Companies House submissions
  • Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain additional information
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to maintain high standards of service delivery
  • Supervise and review the work of junior and senior team members
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and monitor work-in-progress across assignments
  • Track budgets, team performance, and identify any potential overruns or write-offs
  • Support debt management and cash collection processes where required
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues on accounting matters
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and accounting standards
About You
  • Fully ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Strong experience preparing single entity and consolidated year-end financial statements
  • Experience working with accounts prepared for audit
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Client-focused and commercially aware
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities effectively
  • Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is desirable
  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards would be advantageous
