Job Description - Accounts & Business Advisory Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts & Business Advisory Manager to join a growing professional services team based in Ipswich. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on combining technical expertise with client-facing advisory work, and who is passionate about leading teams, building strong client relationships, and delivering high-quality financial insight. You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, overseeing the preparation of accounts, guiding junior team members, and providing valuable commercial advice to help businesses grow.
What You’ll Be Doing
Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact Leading the preparation and review of year-end accounts and financial statements Delivering insightful financial advice, including cashflow forecasting and performance analysis Building strong, long-term client relationships and identifying opportunities for additional services Managing workflow, deadlines, and team capacity to ensure timely delivery Coaching and developing junior team members Monitoring WIP and billing to support commercial performance Driving improvements in processes, systems, and efficiencies Core Skills & Experience
Strong background in accounts preparation and business advisory Proven experience managing client relationships independently Ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful commercial insights Experience reviewing work and mentoring junior staff Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlinesTechnical Expertise
Experience preparing and reviewing consolidated accounts Strong understanding of cashflow forecasting and financial projections Knowledge of working capital analysis and key ratios Awareness of VAT treatments, including partial exemption and reverse charge Ability to identify accounting issues and recommend solutions ACA / ACCA / CA qualified, or qualified by experience What Makes This Role Stand Out
