Job Description - Accounts and Finance Manager

DK Recruitment are partnering with a Devon-based client in their search for a hands-on and detail-oriented Finance Manager. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial control across multiple ongoing projects, managing day-to-day financial operations, and providing strategic insight to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Leading all core finance functions including budgeting, forecasting and reporting
Managing project costs, reviewing performance data, and ensuring profitability is always in focus
Overseeing day-to-day operations across accounts payable and receivable, payroll and cash flow
Working closely with operational teams to ensure costs are captured accurately and on time
Producing clear, actionable monthly management accounts for senior leadership
Supporting year-end processes and managing relationships with external auditors
Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting tools
Playing a key role in evolving the finance function as the business grows

Requirements

A solid track record in a hands-on finance role where you’ve managed the full range of finance responsibilities
Experience working closely with operational teams and influencing commercial decisions
Comfortable with project or cost-based accounting
AAT qualified or working towards ACCA, CIMA, or similar (or qualified by experience)
Excellent Excel skills and confidence with accounting software
Organised, adaptable and able to prioritise what matters most
