Accounts & Tax Assistant

We're partnering with a growing accountancy firm based near Newbury, in their search for a skilled Accounts & Tax Assistant following an internal promotion. The Accounts & Tax Assistant will provide a broad range of accounting and tax services for a diverse portfolio of clients including LTD company business owners, Sole Traders, Trusts and SME organisations in a variety of industries.

This is a highly varied role, offering excellent training and exposure to a wide range of accounting areas including:

• Supporting LTD companies, sole traders, private individual clients including HNWIs, partnerships & trusts - delivering a range of accountancy services including annual accounts and assisting with VAT returns
• Prepare and submit Self Assessment Tax Returns.
• Assist with Capital Gains Tax reporting for HMRC
• Assisting clients with multiple income sources: employment, rental properties, dividends, capital gains, pensions, and overseas income
• Ensuring all deadlines are met
• Assist with advising clients on accounts and tax planning strategies to reduce liabilities including VAT, CT, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and residency/domicile issues.
• Keeping up to date with UK accounting and tax legislation changes

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in accounts with some knowledge of tax (currently studying towards an accountancy or tax qualification, or aiming to do so)
• Looking to learn how to manage your own portfolio and building solid client relationships.
• A curious mind with a proactive mindset
