Accounts Assistant

My client is a well established business with service sector, due to a period of extensive change and business improvement, they now have a vacancy for an experienced Senior Finance Assistant on a permanent basis. Monday - Friday 35 hour working week office based.

Working from the Office in Milton Keynes, you will assist the Financial Director with.

• Process sales and purchase invoices
• Credit control
• Deal with supplier payments and statement reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations
• Process expenses / credit card transactions
• Prepare and post Accounts Payable payments
• Assist FD with month-end routines
• Payroll, including RTI on a monthly basis
• Completion of VAT Returns
• Payments by BACS, CHAPS, Cheque, Direct Debit and Standing Orders
• Bank postings and bank reconciliations
• Journal preparation and posting, including payroll journals and intercompany journals, expense system journals
• Assistance with VAT returns
• Support the FD on ad hoc basis and project work.

Applicants should have a good detailed knowledge of accounting principles coupled with a good level of IT Literacy. Ideally AAT qualified looking to take their next step in their studies. Knowledge of Sage is a major advantage but not essential.
