Accounts Assistant

Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Salford
Salary: up to circa £28,000

We are recruiting on behalf of an established company in a fast-paced, product-focused industry, based in Salford. Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their finance team with the addition of an experienced Accounts Assistant.

This is a hands-on role suited to a detail-oriented and proactive individual who will support day-to-day transactional finance activities, reporting directly to the Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies
• Supporting with the preparation and processing of weekly/monthly payment runs
• Managing and reconciling company credit card and expense claims
• Assisting with bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
• Assist with accounts recievable and credit control duties when required
• Responding to finance-related queries from suppliers and internal teams
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks as required

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role, with solid accounts payable experience
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar)
• Ability to manage time effectively and work to deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
