Job Description - Accounts Assistant

Accounts Assistant
Barton upon Humber
£25,000 + Study Support, Hybrid Working

Elevation Recruitment Group are searching for a proactive and motivated Accounts Assistant to join a well established business in the local area. This is a varied and hands-on position suited to someone who has built some solid foundations in finance - whether it's been through practical or theory learning - and is now ready to develop further.

You'll be working as part of the management accounts team with responsibilities spanning transactional finance, month-end duties, reporting, and supporting both sales and supplier processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in management accounting and gain exposure across a wide range of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end processes, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Process receipts, credit notes, and credit allocations accurately
  • Generate and support with daily sales reporting and analysis
  • Provide cover for Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger during absence/holidays
  • Support with supplier rebate calculations and queries
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth financial processes and accurate data flow
  • General support to the Finance Controller and Management Accounts team


Skills & Experience Required

  • Accountancy & Finance Degree or AAT Level 3 Qualification or equivalent (desirable)
  • Some finance experience in industry or practice (desirable)
  • Keen to progress in your finance career - ideally working towards CIMA or AAT Level 4
  • Strong Excel and systems skills, with an analytical mindset
  • A team player, flexible, and confident working in a fast-paced environment
  • Organised, proactive, and willing to learn
