Accounts Assistant

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant, ideally AAT qualified, to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who is proficient in Sage 50 Accounts and has a strong background in finance, particularly within the logistics industry. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks including bank transactions, reconciliations, VAT preparations, and more.

• Posting daily bank transactions across seven bank accounts, including customer and supplier payments.
• Conducting regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Managing credit control processes to ensure timely payments and cash flow management.
• Assisting with VAT preparation and submissions, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Processing BACS payments efficiently.
• Independently managing the accounts email inbox, ensuring all queries are addressed promptly.
• Assisting with the preparation of management accounts, cash flows, and financial forecasting.
• Maintaining high levels of accuracy and efficiency in data entry tasks.
• Utilising Excel for various financial reporting and analysis tasks.

• AAT qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounts role.
• Proficiency in Sage 50 Accounts and Excel.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Experience in the logistics industry is preferable but not essential.
• Skilled in problem-solving and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with credit control, VAT, and BACS processes.
